The Algonquin Theatre Presents The Drowsy Chaperone

What to Do in Huntsville in April

Join fellow musical theatre lovers for a performance of The Drowsy Chaperone at The Algonquin Theatre this April.

In the heart of historic downtown Huntsville, Ontario, in the Huntsville Civic Centre, sits The Algonquin Theatre, a venue that has been the beating heart of performing arts and a community-based gathering spot for over 10 years.

Huntsville has long had a heritage of supporting, funding, and engaging with artists in our expansive community. From performing arts to visual arts and everything in between, the citizens of Huntsville and the surrounding area realize the importance of fostering imagination and inventiveness in our friendly neighbourhood.

Tony award-winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone premiers April 10th

In a play that is well known for its engaging fun and uplifting music, The Drowsy Chaperone is set to have Huntsville audiences laughing and singing along to the comical tale of a starlet and her fiancé, and the rascally hodge-podge of characters surrounding them. Antics and pranks ensue, making The Drowsy Chaperone a love letter to all that is wonderful about musical theatre.

After first premiering on Broadway in April 2006, The Drowsy Chaperone went on to win 5 Tony Awards, including 3 for Outstanding Lyrics, Outstanding Music, and Outstanding Musical.
